Celebrating urban life with Cityfest at CityPlace

By  |

Started in 2013, Cityfest has grown from a simple concept to one of Toronto’s largest outdoor events connecting the downtown communities and celebrating urban life in the city.

The one-day festival hosted at Canoe Landing Park Saturday, August 27, will attract Toronto’s millennial and urban professionals who live the urban experience.  Past years attendees have enjoyed free performances by Glenn Morrison, Karl Wolf, alongside many other local musical acts while enjoying great local food, drinks, and fun activities for all ages.  The theme for Cityfest 2016 is Art, Music, and Fun with a list of expected local vendors on the Cityfest website.

As with any great festival, Cityfest has a variety of great food vendors from burritos to poutine to free ice cream and more.  CityPlace also has many patio restaurants located steps from the festival where festival goers can enjoy a meal and a cold one or cocktails. Local DJ, Vincent Laroche, who is one of the hottest up and coming talents in the Canadian electronic music scene will be spinning at the festival.

Organizers are expecting a record turnout this year.  The festival runs from 12 pm to 9 pm.
