In the wake of the tragic accident that occurred at the Farmers`Market on Bremner Boulevard on June 14th, the CityPlace community is deeply saddened by the loss of a valued vendor and friend.
Scadding Court and Concord Adex offer our deepest condolences to the Parucha family for their loss.
To support the family, Concord Adex has donated $8,000 towards the cost of the funeral and contributed $5,000 to launch a scholarship fund for Algie Parucha’s two children. Scadding Court Community Centre has also donated $5,000 to the family for funeral arrangements. Additionally, all table sales from this weekend’s CityPlace Urban Market Craft and Hobby show will be donated to the family.
The Farmers`Market was designed to help create a sense of community and develop strong relationships with local residents and vendors. There has been an overwhelming outpouring of support for the Parucha family from residents, vendors, local community groups and other individuals.
Community members are invited to make contributions to the family through one of the following funds set up by Scadding Court Community Centre and Concord Adex:
1. The Algie Parucha Funeral Fund
2. The Algie Parucha Memorial Scholarship Fund
