Run, cycle, circuit, stretch: 3 fun fitness studios near CityPlace

By  |

Of course, your 2018 resolution is to get active; it’s ours too. If you’re looking for fitness options in CityPlace to compliment your condo facilities, there are many ways to keep moving.

Here are three different fun picks.

Greco Fitness offers circuit training programs for a full-body workout in 45-minute classes for all fitness levels.

The “Greco Method” claims to burn fat while preserving muscle, combining resistance and cardiovascular training, with no machines.

The classes have three rounds of functional and athletic movement, split up into two short rounds that speed up the heart rate.

The high-end fitness facility offers free towels and espresso, towels and a post-workout shake bar.

Greco offers both group classes and personal training, as well as programs and coaching including weight loss and nutrition.

Greco has a variety of passes, including one class for $19.99 and 10-pack for $180, among others.

Spokehaus says they reinvent the typical spin class, and they do. The high-intensity 45-minute full-body workout is what they describe as “kick-ass.” The difference here is that they set the class to inspiring and fun music, almost as if you’re out dancing. The work on your legs (and core and arms and butt) will prepare you and energize you for an actual night of dancing if you so choose.

Let's travel the 🌍…

They have a variety of rates and packages, from one class for $25 to 20 rides for $390.

The prices include shoes, the use of lockers and cold eucalyptus towels.

Tribe Fitness is an exciting new space on Queen’s Quay at the northwest corner at Spadina, dedicated to spinning and yoga.

It was born out of a fitness movement that’s been active in CityPlace with outdoor runs and park yoga, founded by CityPlace Heather Gardner.

In their physical space, Tribe offers different levels of both yoga and performance-based cycling classes so that beginners are welcome to start exploring, and athletes can maintain their fitness regimes.

There are a variety of rate options; everything from a drop-in class for $17.70 to a 6-month unlimited package for $1075.

Tribe also plans free outdoor runs every week on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the neighbourhood. Tribe also hosts exciting fitness programs: A learn to run program starts February 1, and baby-and-me yoga classes are on now twice a week.
