CityPlace Local Eats – The Fox & Fiddle

By  |

The Fox & Fiddle – 17 Fort York Blvd

The Fox & Fiddle is a British style pub with a wide range of menu items and a great patio that’s at capacity any given game day or patio-weather day. It was one of the first pubs to establish itself in CityPlace at Spadina and Fort York, and its proximity to the Rogers Centre quickly made it popular with the sports crowd. Some call it a modern take on the classic English pub in the heart of the city.  They also offer a kids’ menu and a take-out menu.

One of their unique offerings, the Game Time Stein, doesn’t come from the kitchen. If you love sports and beer, specifically Coors Light or Molson Canadian, then you’ll love the Game Time Stein, 32oz of cold golden goodness sold on Sundays and game days.

Game Time Stein: $8.99

To go with that frosty cold one, The Fox & Fiddle offers two classic menu items that will not disappoint: wings and poutine.

The wings are lightly dusted with seasoned flour and tossed in your choice of eleven varieties of wing sauce. We tried the Whiskey BBQ sauce and the flavour was amazing. They’re served with carrots, celery and a buttermilk ranch dill dipping sauce.

Whiskey BBQ Wings:  $12.99

The other must-have is the Buffalo Chicken Poutine. As its name suggests, pieces of buffalo chicken are placed on top of seasoned pub chips, then they’re topped with melted cheese curds, buffalo butter gravy and scallions, and finished off with a drizzle of buttermilk dill ranch.

Buffalo Chicken Poutine: $13.99

Game day or any other day, beer, wings and poutine are the perfect pub trio.
