The reality is, many people commute in and out of Liberty Village daily. In fact, more than ten thousand employees work in the many commercial and shared office spaces found in the neighbourhood.

Getting to work will become easier and more efficient in the near future. Toronto Mayor John Tory made the announcement that four new GO Transit stations will be added to the Barrie and Kitchener Go Transit lines as the Metrolinx’s Regional Express Rail program expands to serve more people. Where exactly will these stations be located? The four new locations are at Bloor and Lansdowne, Spadina and Front, Liberty Village and St. Clair West and Keele.

Many people were on hand for the announcement held at the First Capital Realty National head-office. Minister of Transportation, Steven Del Duca , MP Adam Vaughan , MPP Han Dong , Councillor Mike Layton and Mayor John Tory were on hand to welcome the great news.
The exact location of the Liberty Village station has yet to be determined. However, it’s easy to presume that it could fit well near Hanna Ave close to the tracks on the north side. Metrolinx Board of Directors had a meeting June 28th to discuss funding, environmental assessment, and various next steps.
With the future addition of this new station, alongside the new commercial developments, it adds credibility and attractiveness in making Liberty Village the creative and technological hub of Toronto. For more details on the official release, click here .
