A celebration of the modern day Thrill-Giver; “THRILLER” – the Drag Queen

By Dean Maher | October 1, 2016

Toronto drag queen, Sofonda Cox’s, passion project/parody on the Michael Jackon classic Thriller, takes the queen into new territory from lip-syncing to singing, writing parody lyrics, replacing zombies with drag queens, and stepping out of her comfort zone.

Sofonda : The idea for this parody video came to me while in a park which once was a cemetery. “Thriller” came to mind and all the fun takes I could have with it. I only work on a project I know will be fun and the whole spin on the word Thrill in Thriller stood out to me. It’s not so much a scary story but more a celebration of the modern day THRILL-Giver; “THRILLER” – the Drag Queen and wouldn’t it be fun to have drag queens in our city be part of it?
